Ref: 635JB: Antique figured coromandel box with engraved mother of pearl escutcheons  working lock with key and having two sprung drawers  fitted for jewelry. The main part of the box has been relied with marbled paper and velvet. Circa 1850

The box has two sprung drawers which are fitted for jewelry. The drawers are released by pressing buttons which are only accessible when the box is open.

The box is of good quality with solid rounded edges.

The main part of the box has been relined with marbled paper and velvet.

 

The compartmentalized lower drawer retains its original silk padding and leather covered divisions.
