Antique Face Screen in red. C. 1840.

This screen is very unusual on account of its colour. It is printed with the picture of a girl walking in the landscape carrying a basket of apples. It is a charming scene in the romantic genre.

The handle is turned and carved in an ambitious complex pattern.  It is both turned and carved.  It is made from  ebony; sections have been gilded.

 Origin: UK  Circa: 1840 ; Materials: wood

Size:  Screen 23.5 cm wide by 17.5 cm; handle 22.7 cm long: 9.2 inches wide by 6.8 inches; handle 9 inches.
