WB467: Writing box veneered in figured walnut circa 1880
Writing box veneered in figured walnut, with rounded brass surround and brass lines. Strong
Bramah lock.
Inside the box is veneered in ebonised wood. The writing surface is lined in the original blue gold-embossed leather. The inkwells are added (new). The flap lifts to a mahogany interior. There are two secret drawers. Working lock and key.
Small crack inside bottom.
Origin: UK
Circa: 1880
