Description:
Ref: 802PW http://hygra.com/box/802PW
Sycamore box of rectangular form decorated with penwork, The
central scene seems to depict a seated man, perhaps a traveling peddler
with a woman playing a flat-back mandolin /cittern. The
central scene is framed by stylized exotic flowers. The sides
are decorated with a repeating pattern of birds and trailing
plants. Inside the box is empty and lined with typical pink
paper. New velvet pads to the inside of the lid and
bottom of the box protect the original paper and makes the box
suitable for holding jewelry or keepsakes.
