Antique 18th Cent. box veneered with ice-birch
and ash

The front of the box: The striations in the ash have been used very effectively, to form a slanting
frame around the centre of the piece. The ash part is delineated with ebony.

The frame/ebony/ash pattern continues on the side of the box.

The back is rhe same as the front, without the escutcheon, but showing the hinges.

The top is accented with an elegant handle in a pleasing unfussy curving shape, which compliments the
straight lines of the box.

The interior shows its age. The construction wood is straight grained
pine.
