Figured walnut box with  a drawer concealed behind a hinged door, opening to a fitted plush interior with lift-out tray fitted for jewelry. The box has rounded ebony edges and a countersunk carrying handle to the top. Circa 1890.

Size: 30 cm wide by 23.5 cm by 16 cm:  11.8  inches wide by 9.3  inches by 4.7  inches.

the box opens up to a lid with a quilted satin. There is a lift out tray lined with velvet. The hinged front opens down to reveal a drawer also lined for jewelry.

 

 The box has been relined with velvet and marbled paper.

There is a countersunk carrying handle in the top.

A
