Writing box veneered in
figured walnut circa 1880
Antique writing box veneered in figured walnut, with rounded brass surround and
brass stringing. The box has a working secure Bramah
lock with key.
Inside the box is veneered in mahogany and has ebonised facings wood. The writing surface is
lined in the original black gold-embossed leather. The inkwells of
period design are added
(new). The flap lifts to a mahogany interior and places for storing
papers. For extra security and privacy,
the upper flap has a second lock with key. There are three secret drawers hidden behind a
sprung panel. Working Bramah lock and key.
