A mahogany writing box veneered in
coromandel and inlaid in mother of pearl, abalone shell and brass and
copper.
The exotic horsemen are an unusual theme. The work is executed
skillfully, utilizing the color and light values of the shells to
create a sense of movement.
The box is immaculately finished inside, and out, the coromandel
facings are punctuated with mother of pearl dots.
Quality work with a very smooth look which betrays dependence on
mechanical processes.
