            Description:It is expertly painted. On the top is a bouquet of roses and anemones
        the confident brush strokes depicting the texture of the blooms and the
        light dancing on the petals. The top lifts and opens and is supported 
        on a hinged riser. The inside is painted with a bird which looks like a
        partridge sitting in a basket
        of carnations the whole framed by a vine with grapes. Underneath there
        is a drawer for drawing implements. The quirky subject allows us a
        glimpse of the personality of the first owner who either commissioned
        the piece or perhaps decorated it.
 A rare gem with personality, period, and style.

            Kingdom Circa: 1830 Materials: Painted
            maple.
 Size: 16.2cm by 24.5cm by 4.7cm: 6.3 inches by 9.7 inches by
            1.7inches.
 Condition: Very
        good overall. the easel is a later replacement.

          The subject of the decoration
        is in perfect harmony with the purpose of the box stand and as it was
        designed to be easily transported to the place of drawing and painting
