Description:
A rare late 18th Century stained beech tambour top writing box in
the manner of a drawing in The Cabinet-Maker's London Book of
Prices 1788. by Thomas Shearer. having twin carrying
handles.
Origin: United Kingdom
Circa: Circa 1800.

Materials: Beech
Size: 29cm
by 24cm by 17cm high at back: 11.4 inches wide by 9.5 inches by 6.7
inches at the back.
Condition: Very good
overall. working lock and key.

The box has a drawer operated by the "tambour"
method: as the role top of the box is opened the drawer emerges.

which is made from molded slats fixed to a flexible canvas backing.
