Description:
SB459: Burr walnut veneered box of rounded form, circa 1870.
A box veneered in particularly well figured burr walnut. It is sparsely decorated with hexagons of mother of pearl subtly cross banded and framed in lines of contrasting woods. The tray, three silk covers and ruched back are original. The darker covers are of later velvet. Working lock and key.

Origin: UK

Circa: 1870

Materials: figured walnut on a pine structure

Size: 29.6 cm wide by 22.5 cm by 14 cm:  11.7  inches wide by 8.9  inches by 5.5  inches.

Condition: good overall working lock and key; see pictures.
