There is a document wallet in the lid.  This has ruched green satin silk framed with gold embossed leather.  The box has a working lock with key, Circa 1850

Origin: UK;  Circa: 1850; Materials: Rosewood on a pine structure.

Size: 29.7 cm wide by 22 cm by 12.4  cm:  11.7 inches wide by 8.7  inches by 4.9  inches.
