Antique brass edged figured burr walnut box with lift out tray and sprung drawer suitable for jewelry Circa 1870.

The box has brass edging
which contrasts with the rich colour of the burr walnut. This also helps
to protect the edges of the box.
The brass is held in place by
small square sectioned pins which are driven in at an angle.

The box has been relined with
velvet and marbled paper.

The box has a sprung
velvet lined drawer and a lift out tray suitable for storing
jewelry.
The drawer is released by
pressing the button in the center of the back between the hinges.

The felt on the bottom is a
replacement.

The box has a working 2 lever lock and key. The lock plate is stamped
" patent".
