Ref: 642JB: Antique box veneered with figured
walnut, the top and front having a central panel framed by a
crossbanding of straight grained walnut and having an inlayed line.
There is a mother of pearl escutcheon surrounded a a parquetry inlay
in the center of the top. The box opens to a velvet lined lift-out
tray. The inside of the lid is lined with lined with satin which is
button padded. The box is edged with ebony and has a working
lock and key. Circa 1870.
