Jb220: a early Victorian box veneered with highly figured burr walnut framed to the top and front with tulip wood cross banding and further elaborate parquetry bandings in maple, wenge, and ebony, having rounded tulipwood edges. Inside the box retains its original lift out tray with supplementary lids. The quilting in the top and the silk coverings to the supplementary lids are original but otherwise the box has been relined. There is a decorative inlay of mother of pearl and abalone in the center of the top and as escutcheon. circa 1850
