Antique inlaid box in burr walnut circa 1850.

Description:
Jb220: a early Victorian box veneered with highly figured burr walnut framed  to the top and front with tulip wood cross banding and further elaborate parquetry bandings in maple, wenge, and ebony, having rounded tulipwood edges. Inside the box retains its original lift out tray with supplementary lids. The quilting in the top and the silk coverings to the supplementary lids are  original but otherwise the box has been relined. There is a decorative inlay of mother of pearl and abalone in the center of the top and as escutcheon circa 1850.

Size: 29.8 cm wide by 22.5 cm by 14.8 cm:  11.7 inches wide by  8.9 inches by 5.8  inches.

Condition: working lock with key good overall condition; see description and images.
