Antique Regency figured rosewood box, circa 1810, by Chrisp manufacturer, London fitted for jewelry

Description:
A Regency figured rosewood box, circa 1810, by Chrisp manufacturer,  of  Cockspur Street, London. The top has  ebony edges  and a brass plate; the sides have  inset brass carrying handles. The box also has a drawer of dovetail construction which is fitted for jewelry and separately locked. The upper part has a liftout tray which is covered with tooled leather. The tray has a supplementary lid containing modern  silver handled manicure  tools.

Origin: UK,  Chrisp manufacturer,  of  49 Cockspur Street,  and 34 New Bond Street, London

Circa: 1810

Size:  308 cm wide by 22.5cm by 16.4 cm:  12.1 inches wide by  8.9 inches by  6.4 inches.

Condition: good over all with working locks and keys (2),  some veneer cracking which does not effect the structural integrity there is also wear/staining  to the original leather surfaces. I have photographed to exaggerate the blemishes!

The figure of the rosewood is particularly beautiful.

 The inside of the lid has a tessellated leather embossed leather covering.

 There is also wear to the original leather surfaces. I have photographed to exaggerate the blemishes!
