Antique A Regency box with tapering sides  and domed top veneered  with beautifully figured mahogany

Description:
A Regency box with tapering sides  and domed top veneered  with beautifully figured mahogany  inlaid with boxwood in a restrained classical pattern, and framed with an  elaborate purfling  of boxwood and ebony with a crossbanding  of kingwood,  and edged with ebony, having gilded brass lion drop side handles  and standing on turned mahogany bun feet.  Inside the box has been been relined with hand made marbled paper and grey velvet. It has a replacement liftout tray which makes it suitable for jewelry and sewing circa 1810.

Circa: 1810

Size: 30.5 cm wide by 23 cm by 20.3 cm including feet:  12 inches wide by  9.1 inches by  8 inches  including feet.

Condition:  some veneer cracking to the top which is not structural, old repairs to the purfling, (see photos), working lock and key.
