Description:
A shaped Regency box veneered with burr yew, edged with boxwood, the
top crossbanded with kingwood, standing on turned bun feet
having two Victorian velvet and leather lift out trays fitted for jewelry.
Origin: UK
Circa: 1810
Size: 25.5 cm wide by 20.5 cm by 14.4 cm high including feet:
10 inches wide by 8.1 inches
by 5.7 inches.
Condition: good
overall some early restorations, the drop handles and bun feet are
Victorian replacements; working lock and key.

Inside the box has two
liftout trays. The divisions are covered in embossed leather. There are
velvet covered sections for rings.

The rich figuring of the burr
yew is particularly attractive.

The top has a central panel of highly figured
burr yew framed by a cross-banding of kingwood between ebony and box chevrons.
