A Regency rosewood box inlaid with brass and ebony having a liftout
tray and side drawer fitted for jewelry.

Circa: 1815.
Materials: Rosewood
and brass.
Size: 33 cm wide by 24.2cm by 17.3 cm: 13 inches wide by
9.5 inches
by 6.8 inches.
Condition: Good
overall. Some blemishes consistent with age. Working locks with keys
(2).

document wallet.
The box has countersunk brass
handels

Detail of the brass inlay which in turn is inlaid with ebony. This
was a style of inlay used by the better London cabinet makers in the
early 19th C. to decorate boxes.

The box has working locks and keys. The drawer
is separately locked.

drawer. The drawer is made of mahogany and veneered with rosewood. The
rosewood is saw cut and here about a millimeter thick.
