Antique Regency rosewood box inlaid with brass accents having a
liftout tray.

Kingdom
Circa: 1815
Materials: rosewood
and brass.
Size: 22.5cm wide by 16cm by 10cm: 9 inches wide by 6.3
inches
by 4 inches.
Condition: good
over all, working lock and key.

In side the box there is a
liftout tray. The box is partially relined with handmaid marbled paper
and silk.

Detail of a corner. The
inlaid brass accents are stars and lucky quatrefoils (four leafed clover
to you and me) in stylized form.
The brass contrasts with the
highly figured rosewood.

The yellow is original. It was a very fashionable color in the
Regency period. The handmade marbled paper although traditional is
replacement.
