Antique Burr Chestnut box by Parkins and Gotto circa 1850

Description:
A burr chestnut box with ebony edges having a liftout tray and spring released drawer suitable for jewelry by Parkins and Gotto.

Origin: UK

Circa: 1850

Materials: 

Size: 31cm wide by 23.cm by 18.5cm:  12.2incheswide by  9.1 inches by  7.3 inches.

Condition: good, some veneer cracking as is often the case in such highly figured wood. working lock and key.

The drawer is released by pressing a button on the back facing midway between the hinges.  

When pressed the drawer springs out making a satisfying clunk.
