Antique Rosewood box inlaid
with mother of pearl Circa 1840.

Description:
A
rosewood veneered box, inlaid with mother of pearl and white metal
in a stylized pattern, having a replacement velvet lined liftout
tray and a separately locked side drawer.
The
workmanship is of high standard; for example, the box is edged with a
rounded piece of wood which finishes it elegantly and also protects it.
Origin: UK
Circa: 1840
Materials: Rosewood
inlaid with Mother of pearl.
Size: 30.5cm wide by 22.5cm by 17cm: 12inches wide by
8.9inches
by 6.7inches.
Condition: Good
overall, working locks and keys.
The stop hinges are a later replacement.

filets of solid rosewood.

The figure of the rosewood of
the top is particularly striking. The mother of pearl inlay contrasts an
emphasizes the rich color .
