Description:
JB507: Rosewood box inlaid with brass to the front and top depicting stylized
flora. The design is controlled in deference to
the Georgian neo-classical tradition but it also embraces the Regency
influence of the Royal cabinet maker George Bullock, who introduced
naturalistic elements to the earlier austere brass designs. The
inside of the box has been relined with hand marbled paper and
velvet and retains its original lift out tray. Circa
1825.

Size: 27.6cm wide by 19.6 cm by 12 cm: 10.9 inches wide by 7.7
inches
by 4.7 inches.
Condition: Good
overall consistent with age; working lock and key. There is a an old
repair to the veneer on one side: see images.
