Description:
JB447: Box veneered in richly figured walnut circa 1870.
The beautiful figure of the walnut is framed in kingwood. The top is decorated with a mother of pearl diamond-shaped inset, framed in inlays of kingwood and other woods. The escutcheon is of a similar design. The interior has been relined and contains an added tray, also lined. Working key.

The box has a velvet lined
replacement tray. Beneath the tray is also lined with marbled paper and
velvet providing further accommodation for jewelry.
