Description:
JB430: Antique Dressing/ Jewelry box in amboina and ebony inlaid
with mother of pearl depicting stylized birds and flora.
Inside the box has its associated mother of pearl cut glass and
silver plated fittings and accessories some in a lift out
tray. These may be used separately if more room is needed for jewelry.
The box has a sprung side drawer of dovetail construction
with three divisions fitted for jewelry. Working lock and key.

Inside the box has fittings and accessories which may be used separately if

There is a document wallet in
the lid. The ruched velvet is framed with gold embossed leather.

Amboina wood is the highly prized and beautifully mottled wood of a
tree (genus Pterocarpus) of Amboina and the East Indies.
The mother of pearl inlay is particularly fine.

The top and front of the box have fielded main panels in the
highly figured burr wood amboina framed by ebony inlaid with mother
of pearl depicting depicting stylized birds and flora.

The mother of pearl inlay is strongly executed and is finely
engraved. The top and front of the box have fielded main panels
in the highly figured burr wood amboina.
