JB313: A figured rosewood veneered box with rounded edges, white
metal (pewter) and mother of pearl accents having two liftout trays
fitted for jewelry. Inside the lid is lined with ruched satin framed
with gold embossed leather and opens down to a document
wallet. The lower drawer which is separately locked using the same
key as the box, is a writing box with Tyrian purple writing
surface compartments for writing implements and paper. Circa 1845.
