A fine Antique brass edged Coromandel
box Circa 1860.

Description:
A box
veneered in strongly figured coromandel, with brass edging,
central plate. It is high quality, which continues into the
interior. It is lined in velvet, silk and gold embossed leather. It has
a lift-out tray and sprung drawer.
The box
has a working lock and key.
Size:
12.5” x 9.21” 7.5" tall. 31.8cm x 23.4cm 19cm tall.
Origin: United Kingdom
Circa: 1860.
Condition:
feint cracks when carefully examined. Some internal wear.

The velvet lined drawer is
released by depressing the button which is between the hinges at the
back.

The lid has an
embossed mauve leather document wallet. Mauve was a particularly popular
colour in the Victorian period. |
