A  Antique brass edged Rosewood box Circa 1840.

Description:
A rosewood veneered box, with brass surround and brass inlaid lines and inset brass handles. The figure of the rosewood is strong. It contrasts well with the brass which serves both as a decorative as well as a strengthening feature.  In the lid is a document wallet the ruched velvet framed with gold embossed leather.

working lock and key.

Origin: United Kingdom.

Circa: 1840

Materials: Rosewood brass.

Size:
11.4” x 8.9”  5.3” tall.  29cm x 22.4cm 13.5cm tall.

Condition: Overall good.  The velvet lined tray is a replacement.
