Description:
A dramatic high quality figured walnut dressing box with chassed
silver plate top crystal bottles and drop front .
The drop front opens to reveal two drawers one leather lined the
other fitted for jewelry with silks and velvet. The silver plated tops
have chased engraving and are inscribed "EVE" The lock plate
reads Bramah Patent.
The lid has a reversible mirror with document wallet behind.
The lock works and has a replacement key.
The leather supplementary cover of the jewelry drawer is gold
embossed "F Pritty Arcade Glasgow".

Circa: 1895
Materials:
Size: 12" by 8.6" by 6.5": 35cm by 23cm by 19.8cm.
Condition: The
box has a shellac/ "French polish" finish and is overall
in very good original condition. One of the jars has a repair. see
below.

The lock plate is
plated and engraved with abstract foliate forms and "Bramah Patent
London".
Here the perfume bottles and
jars stand on the drop front. This was an age of supplicated
glamour.

One of the jars is cracked.
It has been glued in the past. It is in the nature of many of the glues
used to repair glass to yellow.
